"Lifted" is a beautifully rare collaboration between EmmoLei Sankofa and HALO the Great that addresses the severity of the racial climate of our era. With the chaotic and fragile atmosphere surrounding the recent injustices against minority lives, one cant help but to feel helpless and angry–unsure if the facade of equality has been lifted, showing the ugliness of hate. In the moments that you wish it would all end, “Lifted” reflects the withdrawal one might experience when removing oneself from hostility to gain a clearer image of the truth.

The soulful and eclectic sounds of EmmoLei Sankofa combined with the risqué and magical nature of HALO the Great is a one of a kind fusion that offers a common ground between the artists, bonding over current issues that hit close to home.
